What is an Ad Breakthrough Score?
The Ad Breakthrough Score in junbi measures how effectively your ad grabs attention relative to its surroundings on YouTube. It evaluates whether your ad stands out against competing content, background distractions, and other visual elements.
How It Works
To calculate your Ad Breakthrough Score, junbi places your ad in various YouTube contexts and analyzes how much attention it receives. The type of context depends on the viewer mode you select when uploading your ad, as different video player modes change the YouTube interface and impact how the ad is perceived.
For example, in Desktop Viewer Mode, junbi measures attention within the red dotted area in the image below, comparing it to surrounding elements. (Learn more about supported viewer modes here.)
Understanding Your Score
Your Ad Breakthrough Score is displayed as a percentile, comparing your ad to a dataset of over 20,000 real YouTube ads:
- A 85th percentile score means your ad outperforms 85% of other ads in capturing attention.
- A higher percentile suggests your ad effectively cuts through distractions and stands out.
- A lower percentile may indicate the need for stronger visuals, a better hook, or a more engaging opening.
By analyzing this score, junbi helps you determine whether your ad makes an immediate impact and keeps viewers engaged from the very first second.
